HURRICANE

Bob Dylan

This backing track has been optimised for live performance. Not every soaring, crazy violin lick is in here, but there’s enough to keep the song grooving and flowing, leaving room for you to do your thing! With no less than 11 verses, you’ll have plenty of time!!

Bob Dylan is without doubt, the greatest ‘storyteller’ songwriter in history. This song weaves an incredibly complicated and troublesome story over 11 verses – and Dylan makes it sound as easy as a nursery rhyme, such is his gift of phrase and meter. The song was written about the boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter who was wrongly imprisoned, just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time – and being black! Dylan tears shreds off the cops and judges and takes a searing blow torch to the racist legal system in America at that time.
