What a ballad! One of the best ever written. Paul McCartney wrote this song on the way to see John Lennon‘s ex wife Cynthia after he got the news that they just broke up. He was moved to write the song for John’s young 5 year old son Julian. Originally titled “Hey Jules”, Paul exercised his poetic license and changed it to “Hey Jude”. A masterpiece for the ages.
